Aldactone (Spironolactone) is a potassium-sparing diuretic used to treat congestive heart failure or high blood pressure. Aldactone flushes excess salt and water from the body and controls high blood pressure. Aldactone is also used in treating other conditions that require the elimination of excess fluid from the body. These conditions include congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, cirrhosis of the liver, kidney disease, and unusually low potassium levels in the blood.
Norvasc is a calcium channel blocker used to control high blood pressure or angina (chest pain). Reducing high blood pressure helps prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.
